Covid-19: Cabo Verde Volunteer Psychologists Network presented in Praia

Praia, Apr 8 (Inforpress) – A National Network of Voluntary Psychologists, created to support the Government in providing psychological assistance services to Cabo Verdeans, following the new coronavirus that affects the country, was presented today in the city of Praia.

According to the coordinator of the Cabo Verde Voluntary Psychologists Network, Jacob Vicente, this initiative emerged in the context of the Covid-19, an epidemic that has already infected more than 1.3 million people worldwide and Cabo Verde also registering seven cases positive.

At the moment, according to the coordinator, the group counts on the participation of 70 psychologists who, in partnership with the Cabo Verde Red Cross, will provide free service to all those who at this time of state of emergency need psychological support.

“The network has emerged as a “djunta mo” (mutual help) of all Cabo Verdeans to offer what they have in terms of knowledge to provide psychological assistance to all who need it, free of charge and online, taking into account we are in this quarantine phase” he affirmed, indicating, on the other hand, that the referred network already counts on the participation of psychologists from the country and the diaspora.
