Praia, Jun 29 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs said Friday that Cabo Verde has already mobilized around 144 million euros, with international partners, to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic impacts, of which 75 millions have already been disbursed.
Luís Filipe Tavares, who was speaking to journalists following a meeting held today between the Government and the diplomatic corps accredited in Praia, highlighted the “goodwill” and the commitment of the international community to support and stand with Cabo Verde to face this crisis with success.
“We have already mobilized something like 143/144 million euros of which 75 million have already been disbursed. It is a process that will continue, but the important thing here is that there is a strong desire from the international community, from the countries represented in Cabo Verde to continue to support and stand with Cabo Verde in this process”, he said.
“The ambassadors, the international organizations representatives present here, the World Bank, the IMF, the European Union, bilateral states, all showed a great willingness to continue to support and stand with Cabo Verde at this time. It is a difficult fight, but there is a very strong engagement”, he guaranteed.
