Covid-19: BCV promises to ensure essential services during the State of Emergency

Praia, Mar 31 (Inforpress) – Banco de Cabo Verde considers it essential for the financial system to continue to ensure, during the State of Emergency, services such as payment system, reserve and monetary management and cash withdrawal operations by commercial banks.

BCV also includes payment processing services to suppliers, payment processing to pensioners of the Automobile Guarantee Fund (FGA), payment processing to victims with completed processes and the right to receive, within the scope of the FGA and Central of Credit Risk.

For the financial institutions regulated and supervised by BCV, with regard to the activities considered essential, the Banco de Cabo Verde considers that the services covered in the respective contingency and business continuity plans are essential in which each of these institutions, under the terms of the law, must maintain.

In addition, and from what was already said in the statement issued on the 18th of this month, the Banco de Cabo Verde recommends institutions to promote alternative home office or similar mechanisms, whenever possible and to adjust the opening hours to the public at its facilities.
