Praia, Jul 13 (Inforpress) – More than 106.000 Cabo Verdeans have received the first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19, representing 28.8 percent (%) of the adult population in Cabo Verde, revealed the National Director of Health, Jorge Noel Barreto.
The announcement was made this Monday afternoon, at the usual press conference of the Ministry of Health to evaluate the pandemic situation in the country, where he explained that of the 385.000 doses received, 120.410 have already been administered, which represents 31% of the doses received.
According to Jorge Noel Barreto, by last Sunday, a total of 106.755 adults have received at least the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, Astrazeneca or Sinopharm, equivalent to 28.8% of the estimated adult population in Cabo Verde.
“The Sal island continues to be the municipality with the most people vaccinated at least with the first dose, with 58.7%, followed by Tarrafal de São Nicolau with 54.7%, Ribeira Grande de Santo Antão with 51.5%, Ribeira Brava in São Nicolau with 49.8%, Paul with 45.5%, Brava with 42%, São Vicente 38.2%, Maio 37.9% and Porto Novo with 34%” he pointed out.
