Praia, Jun 10 (Inforpress) – A total of 33.000 people have already been vaccinated in Cabo Verde, representing about 10 percent (%) OF eligible population for COVID-19 vaccination and 45% of the population over 60 years old.
The data were presented by the coordinator of the vaccination program against COVID-19, Ivanilda Santos, who said that 2.700 people who took Pfizer had already received the second dose.
The COVID-19 vaccination program started at the end of March, when the country received, under the WHO covax, a total of 24.000 doses of Astrazeneca and 5.850 from Pfizer, and health professionals and the elderly over 70 years old were vaccinated first.
The country has received more vaccines from several partners and the age group has dropped to up to 60 years and at this moment all citizens over 45 years old, chronically ill and professional groups are being covered, with the eligible population being all people over 18 years of age.
