Covid-19: 70% of people in quarantine are in Praia

Praia, Apr 24 (Inforpress) – Almost 70% of people quarantined in Cabo Verde, due to the new coronavirus, are currently in Praia, revealed the director of the Disease Prevention and Control Service, Jorge Noel Barreto.

At the usual press conference to check the situation of COVID-19 in the country, the official started by reminding that this Thursday there were nine additional positive cases of COVID-19, all in the municipality of Praia.

Regarding people in quarantine, Jorge Noel Barreto detailed that 233 are in Praia, 6 in Santa Catarina de Santiago, 45 in Tarrafal, 8 in Ribeira Grande de Santo Antão, 3 in Paul, 9 in Porto Novo, 7 in São Vicente, 20 in Sal and 4 in São Nicolau, thus totaling 335 people in this situation.

“We have found people with respiratory symptoms, including some of the confirmed cases go directly to the health facilities, to emergency, we have been calling them attention to call the free line first. We continue to make this appeal, so that there is a reduction in the risk of spread, which is what we want”, he said.
