Praia, Apr 17 (Inforpress) – The Court of Auditors (TC) said in a press release Tuesday that the concomitant supervision of program contracts is not only done through SIGOV – Integrated System of Budgetary and Financial Management, there are four instruments for this purpose.
The TC responded to the statements made by the president of the African Party of Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV – opposition party) following its visit to the premises of this institution on April 8, and stated at the time that the Government did not create the conditions for the Court of Auditors to carry out the concomitant supervision of the program contracts through access to SIGOF.
“Contrary to what the Government has been saying, the TC has not yet done any concomitant action and is not yet having access to SIGOV …) the PAICV leader said in a statement to the press, but the Court of Auditors explains that there are several modes of concomitant supervision.
“It should be clarified that concomitant supervision is not done only through SIGOF. This type of supervision is also carried out through audits and external audits of accounts which are scheduled at the initiative of the Court of Auditors or carried out at Parliament’s request in accordance with the law”, said the TC, adding that these two concomitant supervisory instruments may also be added the quarterly balance sheets whose remittance is mandatory, but which were never implemented.
