Coronavirus: Cabo Verde  will intensify prevention and control measures on the ports and airports

Praia, Jan 28 (Inforpress) – The Directorate-General for Health will intensify preventive measures on prevention, protection and control of the flu caused by the coronavirus, which may also include control in the country’s ports and airports, if such a procedure is justified.

In an interview with Inforpress, the National Director of Health explained that the possible measures are being “analyzed and considered” and the best measures will be adopted at the best time, namely at the borders.

Artur Correia said that the national health structures are autonomous and they do not depend 100% on the World Health Organization (WHO), but Cabo Verde follows the guidelines from this international organization “with all interest”, affirming that the National Commission, which meets today, is part of the local WHO itself.

The official informed Inforpress that this board held a meeting, via teleconference, nationwide this Monday, involving the entire medical and nursing staff in the country, in a session in which the main technical and organizational problems were addressed in this preparatory phase.
