Copyright: SCM concludes agreement signing process with Cabo Verde municipalities

Praia, Jan 2  (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Music Society (SCM) has signed five more partnership agreements with the municipalities of Santiago, thus completing the process of involving municipalities in the development of the copyright and related rights.

According to a press release to which Inforpress had access this Tuesday, these agreements were signed with the City Halls of Sao Domingos, Sao Salvador do Mundo, Santa Catarina de Santiago, Santa Cruz and Tarrafal for payment of compulsory licenses for music activities in the different municipalities of the country.

With this step, the president of SCM, Solange Cesarovna, said that the institution she runs is closing the year 2019 with a “golden key”, in the framework of partnerships has been establishing since 2015 with the municipalities of the country, in order to achieve realization with “efficiency” the representation and defense of all musicians, authors, composers,  artists, performers of the country.

“This commitment between SCM and these five municipalities in the country is a source of great pride for Cabo Verdean musicians and authors, as SCM is now able to conclude a partnership agreement with all Cabo Verdean municipalities, after having signatures of the partnerships under consideration in 2015,” she said, referring to the municipalities throughout the year have a“ strong cultural agenda”, with music at the center of it.
