Pedra Badejo, May 20 (Inforpress) – The annual inflation rate of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 1.3 percent (%) in April, according to data from the National Statistics Institute ( INE), released today.
The information appears in the results of the Consumer Price Index, which indicate that in April the CPI in the national total registered a monthly variation rate of 0.3%, a value lower by 0.3 percentage points (pp) compared to the previous month.
“The accumulated rate of change of the IPC was 0.5%, a rate 0.7 p.p. lower than that observed in the same month of the previous year”, it showed. According to INE data, the year-on-year rate of change of the CPI in March was 1.3%, 0.3 pp less than in the previous month.
It also demonstrated that in April the CPI registered an average variation of 1.3% in the last twelve months, the same amount as in the previous month. “The underlying inflation indicator (total index excluding energy and unprocessed food) registered a year-on-year change of 2.4%, 0.4 pp higher than in March 2020”, it revealed.
