Consensual environment on tax law proposals means “commitment from all political actors”

Praia, Feb 13 (Inforpress) – Several bills of law in the tax field were approved today in specialized committees (Parliament), in an environment of great consensus that, according to Olavo Correia, means a “commitment from all political actors” in relation to the country.

“This nation is an endeavor for all of us. It is not limited to the Government, but to all political parties and all political leaders”, said the Deputy Prime Minister in a reference to the environment that prevailed today between the MPs who approved law proposals related to the fiscal framework is intended for the country.

Olavo Correia made these remarks to the press on the sidelines of the meeting with the Specialized Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Human Rights and State Reform (CEACDHRE), which, together with the parliamentarians from the Second and Third Specialized Committees, approved a series of proposed tax laws. According to the government official, Cabo Verde is facing the situation of many people living in poverty and unemployment, so it is necessary to speed up the decision-making process.

“The faster we go, the better it is for everyone,” said the Deputy Prime Minister, who is also Minister of Finance, adding that there is a “sense of commitment on the part of all MPs” in this regard.
