Congressmen from several countries meet to discuss the challenges of democracy

Praia, Sep 26th  (Inforpress) – Around 150 national and international congressmen are meeting from today until the 29th, at the University of Cabo Verde at the XV CONLAB and the IV AILPcsh Congress to debate the challenges of democracy in times of global insecurity

According to the president of the organizing committee of the XV Luso-Afro-Brazilian Congress of Social Sciences (CONLAB), Fátima Fernandes, during three days of work the scientific event will feature more than 200 interventions in terms of panels and tables made up of congressmen from 16 countries in the world in the areas of Social Sciences and Humanities.

“Today we will have the opening conference that will bring us a reflection on the topic, also thinking about an important person for us who is the Amílcar Cabral, as we are announcing the 100th anniversary of Amílcar Cabral from this conference in partnership with the Amílcar Cabral Foundation”, she indicated.

The topic of the congress, she continued, is “Reinventing Democracy in a World of Insecurity: Challenges for the Social Sciences and Humanities” which, in her view, represents a challenge that must be worked on at various levels, recalling that the covid-19 pandemic crisis has negatively impacted the world in various dimensions.
