The arrival of international observers, according to the same source, is “an extra motivation” for national actors to make their contribution to the process taking place in “normality” serving to confirm the international reading that Cabo Verde has a “credible, transparent, well organized and peaceful” electoral process.

The approximately 65 observers come from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), foreign media, as well as the Embassy of the United States of America and accrediting African Union who are yet to arrive in Cabo Verde.
