Praia, Oct 5 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verde National Commission for UNESCO (CNU) launched, in Praia, the National Memory of the World Committee, for the preservation of documentation.
The information was transmitted to the press Friday by the executive secretary of the CNU, Carla Palavra, on the sidelines of the opening of the open conversation on “The advantages of having constitutional guarantees and / or policies of public access to information”, held within the framework of the International Access to Information, which was celebrated on September 28.
The official said that this Committee aims, in addition to preserving documentation, the submission of dossiers or documents to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which can be recognized as having universal value.
On the other hand, Carla Palavra informed that in relation to the “open conversation”, topics on the advantages and benefits of information, the importance of data protection and media literacy will be addressed. The executive secretary of CNU emphasized the import of information in the context of the pandemic, considering that the lack of information or misinformation can reinforcing risky behaviors.
