CNE sets number of voters per polling station and discloses health security measures for the elections of April 18

Praia, Apr 9 (Inforpress) – The National Election Commission (CNE) set at 350 the maximum number of voters per polling station, for the National Assembly MPs election, in April 18.

According to the CNE’s deliberation, to which Inforpress had access today, it is a measure aiming to “minimize logistical constraints, namely the lack of public buildings and citizens to perform the functions of board members, verified in the 2020 elections”.

In the same document, the CNE refers that the polling stations open at 7:00AM and close at 6:00PM and warns, on the other hand, to ban the sale of alcoholic beverages in the vicinity of polling stations from 7:00AM to 7:00PM on election day.

The CNE’s deliberation points to a set of health security measures to be observed during the day of the legislative elections, namely the distancing of 1.5 meters among voters in line, the sanitization of hands with alcohol-gel by voters, as well as the mandatory use by the polling stations members of specific equipment that integrating surgical mask , visor and gloves.
