Praia, Aug 22 (Inforpress) – The National Elections Commission (CNE) will promote the course on electoral matters and citizenship in all higher education establishments in the country, said CNE president Maria do Rosário Pereira Gonçalves.
Speaking to Inforpress, at the end of the opening ceremony of the pilot course on electoral matters and citizenship, the CNE president explained that the initiative aims to prepare agents who will promote greater participation of citizens in electoral processes in the future.
In partnership with the University Institute of Education (IUE), the CNE initiated a series of training sessions that will be held during the summer, aiming at a better training of IUE trainees and other educational institutions.
“The CNE chose as target audience the higher education establishments students, because they will be the multipliers of information that can consolidate the citizens’ knowledge in electoral matters, thus stimulating a greater participation of voters in elections, promoting citizenship,” said the the Commission’s President.
