Praia, Feb 15 (Inforpress) – The City Hall of Praia promoted this Saturday the opening of the 1st Municipal Arts Exhibition, entitled “Memory of Carnival”, at Casa Padja (5 de Julho Park), an event that will be open to public until the 27th of this month.
On the occasion, the director of culture, Adilson Spínola, said that this was the way the City Hall found to not let carnival pass by, since this year there will be no parades, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, although the exhibition has the objective of facilitating the public access to “works of art” and that the idea is not to have an exhibition in itself, but rather an “installation for works of art”.
“We did not choose several pieces, but the ones are the most emblematic, from King, Queen, Flag bearer and Master of Ceremony so that they can stand out more. We have some parts of floatst we also chose to give more visibility ”, he explained.
The official stated that pieces representing all the official carnival groups in Praia are in exhibition, according to a criterion for choosing each work to be represented in the exhibition.
