Santa Maria, Apr 13 (Inforpress) – The workshop on “Operational Safety in Civil Aviation”, which took place for two days in Sal, was concluded on Tuesday, with experts in the area aiming for a safer airspace, after debate of four “important” panels.
During these two days of intense work, experts from the aeronautical industry at regional and international level, had the opportunity to know and discuss experiences of the organizations in the field of research on accident prevention and aeronautical incidents, as prevention instruments, analyze barriers, evolution, challenges and opportunities, among other objects.
“The role of aviation authorities and the implementation of the culture of operational safety and its challenges”, “The importance of regional organizations in the operational safety system”, “The contribution of investigating authorities in reducing the rate of aeronautical accidents”,” The role of teaching in civil aviation and the importance of operational safety to promoting tourism in Cabo Verde”, were the topics under discussion.
In the end, the Mayor of Sal, Júlio Lopes, who closed the work, highlighted the position that Cabo Verde occupies in the international security scenario, noting that this small country has two airports with the “highest” certifications worldwide.
