City Hall of Praia will exempt sellers from the Sucupira Market from rental payments for up to six months

Praia, Sep 17 (Inforpress) – The councilor for the Environment, Culture, Sanitation and Creative Industries at the City Hall of Praia said Wednesday that the City Hall will exempt rental payments from sellers in the Sucupira Market for a period of three to six months.

António Lopes made this announcement to the press, when asked about the beginning of the cleaning of the Sucupira Market, “strongly affected” by the floods.

As he pointed out, the City Hall has to create conditions for people to return to work, so the traders will be exempt from rental payments for up to six months.

The councilor stated that the City Hall of Praia is carrying out a survey on the losses, in order to study the contribution strategies traders may have.

“They will stop paying rents for three to six months, and the municipality is, together with the Government, organizing a system with banks to access loans”, he said, stressing that traders will only start paying when they have some income.
