City Hall of Maio gathers choir at the 3rd Cantata

Porto Inglês, Dec 20 (Inforpress) – The City Hall of Maio holds this Thursday the 3rd edition of Cantata, an event that will take place in the central square and will feature choir from the Catholic and Nazarene churches.

According to a local source, the participants, both musicians and singers from the churches choir, will perform traditional Cabo Verdean songs, especially the repertoire of mornas and Christmas songs.

For a tribute to the morna, after its classification as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the City Hall of Maio still holds today, at 91:00pm, a “night of morna” featuring musical groups and singers, during which the performance of musician and composer Tibau Tavares is also planned.

The event has the partnership of the Cultural Association Sete Sois Sete Luas.
