Praia, Jul 1 (Inforpress) – The mayor of Ribeira Grande de Santiago considered this Sunday that the second edition of the “Journey through History” surpassed his expectations, however they took some lessons to improve in the next recreation.
Manuel de Pina made this regard to the press at the end of the historical recreation that recreated the invasion of the French privateer Jacques Cassard to Cidade Velha in 1712. For the mayor, before the event there was “butterflies in the stomach”, but at the end we managed to reach the objective.
Manuel de Pina, who played the role of adviser to the Governor, praised the commitment of all the actors and the local population, who, with little time, managed to do their roles well.
“We had short time to transfer the responsibilities from the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries to the City Hall, but now we have one year to do so. The clothing and the preparations has come of rushing, so everyone is to be congratulated,” he said.
