Praia, Dec 26 (Inforpress) – Cardinal Dom Arlindo said that the celebration of Christmas helps man to become aware of his “highest dignity” in which the human imagination could not reach or suppose and everyone should have the “very same dignity”.
In his homily at the Christmas Mass at Nossa Senhora da Graça Church at Plateau this morning, Dom Arlindo Furtado said that God came to teach this, warning the faithful that this “implies and in a such way” in attitudes, behavior and in relationship to one’s neighbor as a unique opportunity to spend one’s life doing good to Jesus through others.
To Dom Arlindo, “if the salvation, the liberation from slavery of Babylon is cause for rejoicing, what will not be the joy of those and that people that God wants to constitute to free themselves from the evil, the sin of death and gain a new citizenship before unthinkable?”.
Taking as a teaching of the Gospel of John that “those who received the Word made flesh, this Word the Son of God, coexisting with God from all eternity”, Archbishop Arlindo said that God assumed human reality and was not content to create the human being in his image and likeness, in making the “covenant between the divine and the human.”
