China grants three million escudos for the implementation of the  Healthy Cities project in Cabo Verde

Praia, May 24 (Inforpress) – The Chinese Embassy in Cabo Verde granted the National Association of Municipalities of Cabo Verde this Thursday the amount of about three million escudos to “boost the development” of the “Healthy Cities project in Cabo Verde”.

For the president of the National Association of Municipalities of Cabo Verde (ANMCV), Manuel de Pina, who spoke to the press, on the sidelines of the cooperation agreement signing, the support will help in the materialization of the local authorities actions, improve its performance in the field, but also in the installation of the headquarters of this project and delegation of the National Association of Municipalities in São Vicente, to cover the northern region of the country.

“With this support, we will finance and complete the housing work at the headquarters of the Unit for Supporting the Implementation of Healthy Cities (UAICS) based in Mindelo”, said the official, who said that they will take this project to the 22 municipalities of the country, covering in the first phase only six, from Santo Antão, São Vicente e de São Nicolau.

However, he explained that the “Healthy Cities project in Cabo Verde” aims to promote actions implemented by local authorities in order to improve the health aspects, self-esteem of populations, accessibility, the environmental sector and streets.
