Cape Verdean residing in France is lead actress in the opening film of the Cannes Film Festival 2023

Praia, April 20 (Inforpress) – The film “Ama Glória”, directed by French filmmaker Marie Amachoukeli, featuring Cape Verdean actress Ilça Zego in the lead role, has been chosen to open the Cannes Film Festival 2023, which takes place in May in France.

In comments to Inforpress, Ilça Zego recalled that it all began when she saw a post from this producer looking for people to be part of the film that was going to be shot. Without hesitation, she contacted the producer and through the casting process, assumed the role of the lead actress in the film that was selected to open the Cannes Film Festival 2023.

Highlighting that the emotion is so great that she can’t even describe what she feels in her soul, the artist mentioned that this participation was “unforgettable” and that she wants to improve and work more in this area, which has been a childhood passion.

“It’s a feeling of joy, an emotion that I can’t explain, as it is one of the most prestigious and well-known events in the world. This participation represents a huge sentiment, because it represents a dream, a reward for efforts, and responsibility, as from now on I should study theater and cinema more,” she said.
