City of Praia, 15 May. (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Domingos “Destroyer” Barros defeated the North American William Knight in Beverley, USA this Sunday and became champion in the light heavyweight category.
With this win in his career, this time against veteran and renowned Willian Knight, the 30-year-old Creole athlete, 1.90 meters and over 100 kg, residing in Portugal, took a significant step towards his rise to the highest level of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
“Few but good! Thank you very much to each one of you for supporting me”, said the Cape Verdean fighter in his first reaction to this victory, he who already on the eve of this high-profile fight had already promised “to make this victory look easy”.
This feat of “Destroyer” (The Destroyer) as this fighter born in Cidade Velha, municipality of Ribeira Grande de Santiago is known, was praised by the Minister of Sports, Carlos Monteiro, for whom this “great achievement fills us with pride”.
