Cape Verde and Portugal intend to create common policies for the diaspora with the creation of a joint working group

Praia City, April 14 (Inforpress) – Cape Verde and Portugal intend to create common policies for the diaspora, with the creation of a joint working group for coordination and sharing of experiences that both countries have in this sector.

The intention was expressed today, in statements to the press, in Praia City, by the Secretary of State for Communities of Portugal, Paulo Cafôfo, after a courtesy visit to the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva.

“Diasporas are a strategic asset for Cape Verde, as they are for Portugal, and with this, we can have scale gains,” justified the minister, arguing that the respective governments have to provide “the right policies” to respond to the natural friendship that exists between the Cape Verdean and Portuguese diaspora.

According to Paulo Cafôfo, with the right policies implemented and coordinated, the two governments can even carry out initiatives for the two diasporas together.
