CAPE 22 highlights role of diplomacy in mobilizing resources to deal with pandemic – Secretary of State

Praia, Jan 19 (Inforpress) – The first edition of the 2022 Annual Foreign Policy Conference (CAPE 22) highlighted the role of diplomacy in mobilizing resources to deal with pandemic and also to meet the real needs of Cabo Verde’s development.

This conclusion was made on Tuesday by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Miryan Vieira, to the press, moments after the closing ceremony of the 1st Annual Conference on Foreign Policy (CAPE 22) which took place under the theme “Challenges of Cabo Verdean diplomacy due the COVID-19 pandemic”, on Monday and today in the city of Praia.

“CAPE 22 is the inclusive and very fruitful exercise during which the different national institutions, from different areas, were able to make their contribution to this reflection that was necessary for our foreign policy, especially in the context of the current pandemic we live in,” he said.

In a word,  the role of diplomacy was highlighted, especially in mobilizing the resources needed to deal with the pandemic and also to respond to the real needs of Cabo Verde’s development, he stated.
