CAN 2021: Gastroenteritis outbreak caused by food poisoning hits five players in the national team

Praia, Jan 24 (Inforpress) – Five players from the national football team have gastroenteritis, caused by food poisoning, the Cabo Verdean Football Federation (FCF) said today.

In a press release, the same source said that others two members of the Cabo Verdean delegation present at the African Cup of Nations (CAN’2021) also felt unwell.

On the other hand, in training this Sunday, the penultimate before the game on Tuesday, the 25th, fixed for 3PM, at the Kouekong Stadium with Senegal, coach Bubista counted on all the players. Cabo Verde qualified for the CAN 2021 round of 16 as one of the top four third-placed teams in the six groups.

In the first round, the national team finished third in Group A, with four points, Cameroon in first place with seven points, and Burkina Faso, in the second, with four, managed to move directly to the round of 16.
