Praia, Jul 14 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, Rui Figueiredo Soares, said Tuesday that the Cabo Verdean presidency of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP) “fulfilled its mission”.
“The Cabo Verdean presidency, even with the COVID–19 pandemic, has been fulfilling its program,” said the ruler, who acknowledged that “it has not been easy”, because of the limitations the virus has imposed on the movement of people not only within the community, but throughout the world.
“Thanks to the technology and CPLP technicians professionalism and Member States, through virtual platforms, it was possible to ensure the organization’s statutory meetings and coordination at all levels: political-diplomatic, cooperation, including the promotion and dissemination of the Portuguese language,” Rui Figueiredo Soares said.
The Head of Cabo Verdean diplomacy made these remarks at a press conference on the assessment of Cabo Verdean presidency of the CPLP.
