Cabo Verdean Music Society joins the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers

Praia, June 12 (Inforpress) – The application of the Cabo Verdean Music Society (SCM) was unanimously approved at the General Assembly of the IInternational Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) held this Thursday in Lisbon, said the president of SCM in a statement.

In a note sent to Inforpress, Solange Cesarovna, welcomes the entry of SCM into the “huge CISAC family as a provisional member”, which in her view is “a firm and sure step” towards the consolidation of the copyright protection mission in Cabo Verde and around the world, under the guidance and strategic support of CISAC.

With SCM’s accession to CISAC, according to that president, the horizons of SCM’s action will be broadened through partnerships with the counterpart entities of the Confederation, thus allowing SCM to also defend the rights of all Cabo Verdean musicals creators in other parts of the world, preventing them from being left without legitimate protection, a fact that “is being verified with the great majority”.

Solange Cesarovna points out that CISAC is the leading World Organization of Societies of Authors and Composers and represents a collective voice of over four million creators from all geographical regions of the world.
