At the inauguration, the director of the National Center for Art, Crafts and Design (CNAD), Irlando Ferreira, showed that the exhibition and the brand represent the achievement of a “very great” challenge, because working from São Vicente to Brava, through digital means, “is completely different” than when working in person. As he pointed out, since 2018, when the project began, they were already aware that it would be a challenge, but the motivation of the creatives, both designers and the hand-embroidered made by women, made the CNAD and everyone involved bet everything was possible so that the project could get to what it is today. Cabo Verdean community celebrates 44th anniversary of national independence with various cultural activities

Praia,  Jul 8 (inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean community of Providence, in the United States of America, is promoting a series of cultural activities and health fair on Sunday, July 7th, to commemorate the 44th anniversary of national independence, with special focus on the musical festival.

Speaking to Inforpress, the organizer of the event, Rosy Tavares, explained that the Independence Day festival is the oldest celebration of the Cabo Verdean community in the United States, whose objective is the preservation and appreciation of the culture and heritage of the Cabo Verdean people.

During this Sunday, she said, there will be several cultural activities and health, welfare and education fair, adding that the day will be marked with arts workshops, including various activities for children.

“This date is always celebrated with various activities and the most important thing is that the national independence day brings together thousands of Cabo Verdeans in a single space that, proud of the conquest of national liberation, celebrate this date. We will have performances by Cabo Verdean artists residing inside and outside the US and we will still have a fusion of batuque, funaná and tabanca, among others,” she said.
