Cabo Verde wants to set up “robust system” to prevent and combat cybercrime – Olavo Correia

Praia, Nov 22 (Inforpress) – Deputy Prime Minister Olavo Correia said today that Cabo Verde wants to build a “robust system” to preventing and combating cybercrime, with investments in judicial institutions to ensure “internal capacity”.

The Minister of Finance and Business Development and Minister of Digital Economy made this statement to the press on the sidelines of the workshop to implement a response team to Computer Security Incidents (CSIRT), organized by the Multisectoral Economic Regulatory Agency (ARME), in partnership with the West Africa Response on Cybersecurity and Combating Cybercrime (OCWAR-C).

According to the Minister, Cabo Verde is “doing a lot” in terms of promoting cybersecurity and also combating cybercrime.

As reported, the country has “solid institutions”, both at the level of the Judicial Police (PJ), the National Police (PN) and the entire judicial system, but also a policy of betting on information and communication technologies.
