Praia, Jun 14 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde was chosen to be the spokesperson for the theme blue economy, connectivity and environment at the 3rd Ministerial Conference of African States bordering the Atlantic Ocean, and offered to host the Oceanographic Research Center of the region.
The information was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, Rui Figueiredo Soares, who returned to the country recently after having participated in the meeting which took place on 8th in Morocco.
“The meeting was successful. Cabo Verde was chosen to be the spokesperson for the theme blue economy, connectivity and environment and in this matter we can account for the importance that science has for research and for the strengthening of these countries.
In this sense, we offer to house in Cabo Verde a research center near the University of the Atlantic and the Oceanographic Center”, he said.
Rui Figueiredo Soares said Cabo Verde will now send the proposal to the Government of Morocco for all countries to consider the possibility of hosting this research center on oceanographic matters in Cabo Verde.
