Cabo Verde wants to halve the number of deaths from road accidents

Praia, Nov 30 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde wants to halve the number of deaths from road accidents in the next 10 years and be among the top ten African countries with better indicators and road safety indexes.

These are some goals of the National Strategic Plan for Road Safety for the period 2021-2030, presented today in the city of Praia, in the framework of the National Road Safety Day, which is observed today in Cabo Verde.

This plan, according to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Paulo Rocha, aims to improve road safety in the country and promote a culture of road civility on roads and citizens in general.

“Cabo Verde should have as a goal, in line with what is proposed through the national plan, to drastically reduce the ratio of road deaths per 100.000 inhabitants over the next 10 years, which is currently 11, and to be among the top ten African countries with better indicators and road safety index”, pointed out the minister.
