Praia, Jun 6 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde wants to be part of the European Union’s investment programme for Africa, amounting to an overall amount of EUR 150 billion, the Deputy Prime Minister Olavo Correia said today in Praia.
The intention was expressed to journalists moments before the opening of the High Level Dialogue on Private Sector Financing, organised by the Ministry of Finance and Business Development and attended by the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank.
“We want to be part of this envelope, so it is very important to engage and comply with the private sector, through information (…) so that this dialogue can be constructive and can make the most of the investments the European Union (EU) makes available to Africa and Cabo Verde”, explained the Minister of Finance and Business Development.
However, he informed that the Government has been working on public conventions on funding for the State Budget, amounting to around EUR 7 million, to combat extreme poverty, energy transition and quality of governance.
