Cabo Verde plays a unique strategic role within ECOWAS – President of the ECOWAS Parliament

Praia, April 25 (Inforpress) – The President of the Parliament of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Moustapha Cisse Lo, said today in Praia that Cabo Verde plays a unique strategic role within ECOWAS.

Moustapha Cisse Lo was speaking at the solemn session of the National Assembly held today by the Cabo Verdean Parliament to welcome the Pan African and ECOWAS MPs, who are in the archipelago for a deconcentrated session of this regional parliament, which will analyze related issues with illegal immigration and underemployment of young people.

According to him, despite not having a territorial connection with the continent, Cabo Verde is important and plays a key role in ECOWAS, so it will always have the community support.

“Cabo Verde is decisive in the fight against clandestine migration … I assure you that the archipelago will never be alone while I am in the chair of the ECOWAS Parliament,” he emphasized.

Moustapha Cisse assured that he will do all in his power to ensure the effective implementation of all community protocols and programs that promote integration among all members of the community.
