Mindelo, Nov 23 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Maritime Economy, Paulo Veiga, said that the dynamics resulting from Cabo Verde Ocean Week have contributed to Cabo Verde’s position as a reference for the Blue Economy in the Middle Atlantic.
According to Paulo Veiga, who was speaking Friday during the closing of the 3rd edition of the Cabo Verde Ocean Week (CVOW), in addition to positioning the country as a reference, these dynamics “simultaneously raise awareness among national institutions, the private sector and civil society on the imperative of the country’s transition to the Blue Economy”. The gains, according to the Minister, have been visible.
For the minister, the realization of this 3rd edition of the event was “a great challenge considering the current context”, because “it brought together partners, technicians and specialists with“ deep knowledge of the maritime area, seas and oceans, who presented strategies and measures to care for the oceans ”, while giving the opportunity to“ show Cape Verde as a privileged stage of the Blue Economy ”.
The President of Cabo Verde Ocean Week, Eneida Gomes, and the Mayor of São Vicente, Augusto Neves, also spoke, who highlighted the event’s contribution to the preservation of the seas and oceans.
