Cabo Verde lacks significant investments in order to prepare and respond to disasters

Praia, Oct 13 (Inforpress) – The president of the National Civil Protection and Fire Service (SNPCB), Reinaldo Rodrigues, told Inforpress today, in the City of Praia, that Cabo Verde lacks significant investments to be able to prepare and respond to disasters.

“The National Civil Protection System still lacks significant investments for the implementation of the seven priority areas of the National Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction, in order to improve its responsiveness,” said the President of the SNPCB.

Reinaldo Rodrigues, who was speaking to Inforpress on October 13, reiterated that in view of the need to ensure an integrated and cross-cutting approach to disaster risk reduction in Cabo Verde, the National Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction was approved in 2018,  2018-2030.

The Government’s programme for this legislature already points to the implementation of the National Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction as one of the priorities, within the civil protection sector.
