Cabo Verde is a member of the Chess Committee at Multisport Games, FIDE’s newest structure

Praia, May 22 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde is a member of the newly created Chess Committee at Multisport Games, the newest structure of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in which the country is represented by the president of the Cabo Verdean Chess Federation Chess, Francisco Carapinha.

Set up by the president of the International Chess Federation (FIDE), Arkady Dvorkovich, the Chess Committee in Multisport Games has as its main tasks the promotion of this modality in all regional, continental and international multisport games and the liaison with the respective bodies.

As Inforpress learned from the Cabo Verdean Chess Federation (FCX), the newly created body also has the role of contributing to the greater popularization and recognition of chess, in accordance with the principles of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The Chess Committee at Multisport Games is coordinated by the executive director of FIDE, Victor Bologan, and the director of International Relations, Mohamed Al-Mudahka, with the position of secretary being entrusted to Danara Shovunova.
