Praia, Nov 18 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde hosts, from December 2 to 4, the Economic Conference for Africa and the African Heads of States Summit to debate the financing of development in the continent, informed today by Inforpress.
Co-organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Economic Commission of the African Union and the UNDP, with support from the United Nations and strong sponsorship from the Government of Cabo Verde and the President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, this event will be held at Sal Island and it is intended the results will have a worldwide impact.
This information was disclosed to the press by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia, and by the coordinator of the United Nations System, Ana Graça, after a meeting with the President of the Republic, who “has already offered to give all his strength collaboration so that the colloquium is a success and Cabo Verde continues to emerge as a space for major international conferences”.
“It will be an extraordinarily important and timely moment, particularly in the COVID-19 context and post-COVID pandemics, to debate the challenges of financing development in Africa. Discussing how we can mobilize more endogenous resources, how we can have a more modern fiscal machine, more efficient and more capable of mobilizing resources which our countries need”, said Olavo Correia.
