Praia, Jan 8 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities, Luís Filipe Tavares, told Inforpress that Cabo Verde is following with “some concern” the event this Wednesday in Washington (USA), in which a group of supporters rioted and invaded the Capitol.
“The images we saw yesterday on television, of the events at the Capitol, are, in fact, disturbing,” said the head of Cabo Verdean diplomacy, reacting, at the request of Inforpress, to what happened yesterday in the United States of America.
For Luís Filipe Tavares, in a democracy, political transitions must be “peaceful and made with all institutional normality”.
“Cabo Verde trusts in the American institutions that are solid”, underlined the official, showing that he is confident that the country’s authorities will know how to overcome, with “intelligence, sensibility and responsibility, this complicated moment”.
