Praia , Oct 12 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde was elected a member of the Executive Board of the Regional Anti-Doping Organization of Africa during the 12th meeting of the Zone 2 and 3 Africa Council in Dakar, Senegal.
The election was held on Wednesday, 11, on the first day of the Council’s annual meeting to discuss common strategies to combat doping in sport on the African continent.
The archipelago was represented at the meeting by the president of the National Anti-Doping Organization (ONAD-CV), Emanuel Passos, who now holds the position of treasurer of that organization, for a term of two years.
This elective meeting, according to a press release from the ONAD-CV, was attended by the countries of Zone 2 and 3 of Africa and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and had the objective of presenting the activities report of the ORAD member countries, the balance sheet and doping control grants for 2017, as well as discuss the need to implement a doping control distribution plan.
