Praia, Sep 24 (Inforpress) – The Superior Councils of the Judiciary of Cabo Verde and Sao Tome and Principe signed a cooperation agreement to exchange experiences on the functioning of judicial institutions and the “swift functioning” of justice.
The agreement was initialed this Thursday, in the city of Praia, as part of the six-day visit the president of the Supreme Court of Justice of Sao Tome and Principe, Manuel Silva Gomes Cravid, held to Cabo Verde.
Speaking to the press, the President of the Superior Council of the Judiciary of Cabo Verde, Bernardino Delgado, explained that the idea is to take advantage of what is good in each of the judicial systems and create synergies which can “enhance the operationalization and speed functioning” of justice between countries.
According to him, the agreement will focus on areas of intervention of “extreme importance” for the two systems, on the issue of consolidating the independence of the functioning of the courts, training of judges and the swift fulfillment of letters rogatory, an aspect related to mobility exists between people, but also aspects on the computerization of the judicial system.
