Cabo Verde and Hungary sign general economic and technical cooperation agreement

Praia, Mar 28 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde and Hungary signed an agreement on economic and technical cooperation in the City of Praia on Thursday, 27-28, within the visit framework of the head of the Hungarian government to the archipelago.

According to a press release, the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, will have a working meeting with his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orbán and will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities, Agriculture and Environment, Education and Culture and Creative Industries.

During this meeting, four legal instruments will be initialed, namely the letter of intent on the negotiation of the agreement to avoid double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion in respect of income taxes, an agreement to promote and reciprocal protection of investments and agreement on the establishment of a framework program for financial cooperation.

The 35 million euro (3,8 million escudos) credit line agreement provided by the Hungarian Government for the mobilization and reuse of water will also be signed, as well as the presentation of the first honorary consul of Cabo Verde in Hungary, Peter Vandor.
