Nova Sintra, Jun 12 (Inforpress) – Prepared International consultant, Anna Lena Hunh, in Brava for mission at the World Bank’s request for disaster management, said that actors on the island need equipment to provide better responses to emergency situations.
The consultancy, consisting of two councilors and the regional coordinator of Civil Protection, Edson Alfama, met with various social actors on the island who work in the disaster management area in terms of disaster risk, in order to see the current state, identify gaps and potential for the development of the system in the future and to inform the World Bank, but also the Government, of the investments and improvements that need to be made in this area.
Following the meeting, the consultant pointed out that they have been able to identify some gaps, see what already exists on the island in terms of equipment, human resources, the different roles of the actors present, but also managed to see that there is “still lack funding” for investment in relation to what already exists.
But she also considered that with what already exists, if there was a greater collaboration of the actors, the result could be better.
