Brava Island: CACD Association organizes activities to teach and promote Cabo Verdean culture in Diaspora

Nova Sintra, Jan 6 (Inforpress) – The ‘Capeverdean American Community Development’ (CACD) Association organizes an event entitled “Cabral ka Mori”, with the aim of “teaching and promoting” Cabo Verdean history and culture in the Diaspora.

Speaking to Inforpress, from the United States, Rosy Tavares, a member of the program committee, explained that this event is scheduled for January 22 and 23, having already organized a set of lectures to talk about “Life and Death of Amílcar Cabral”.

According to the same source, these lectures will be given by experts in this matter, but there will also be room for declamation of poetry, music and traditional Cabo Verdean dances, indicating the batuku and the morna.

As part of the activities of January, she also reported that on the 24th will start a series of theater classes that will run until February 16, with the support of RI Culture, Humanities and Arts Recovery Grants (RI CHARG), and the collaboration of The Gamm Theatre.
