Brava: City Hall announces municipal project to reduce dog population on the street by 2020

Nova Sintra, Jan 17 (Inforpress) – Domingas Coelho, the councilwoman responsible for the Sanitation area of ​​Brava, told Inforpress that the City Hall will be preparing a project to build a kennel and reduce the dog population in and out of the street.

Domingas Coelho was speaking to Inforpress about complaints from the population and livestock farmers affected by the large number of dogs circulating on the island’s streets.

According to the councilwoman, City Hall of Brava is already aware of this situation, so a project called “registration of dogs” is underway, in which three technicians were hired at the beginning of the campaign to do the work.

This project is being implemented in all localities of the island in order to control the dog population on the street, to have “a database, better public health, responsible ownership of the animal and stop the spread of stray dogs”.
