Nova Sintra, Feb 6 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean American Community Development – CACD organizes next Saturday a set of activities in memory of Amílcar Cabral and his role in African history.
The CACD’s Director of Public Relations and Marketing, David Norton, explained to Inforpress that the objective on this day is to “share” knowledge about the role of Amílcar Cabral in African history and to inform people from all social classes and diversity about Cabo Verde and its “important” role in African history.
According to him, Pawtucket is home to many Cabo Verdeans and Cabo Verdean descent, who constitute the largest foreign population in Rhode Island, in the United States.
He further said that as a Cabo Verdean organization and community center, they strive to help educate and celebrate Cabo Verdean history with a program inserted in the “Black History Month” with the Cabo Verdean emigrant community and “share the pride” with all. To this day, some teachers will be invited to speak about Amílcar Cabral, as well as some cultural and recreational activities.
