Boxing/Qualifying Paris’2024: Four Cape Verdean boxers play for semi-final places today

Praia, Sep 13 (Inforpress) – The four Cape Verdean boxers who qualified for the quarter-finals of the qualification tournament for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will compete again today in Dakar, Senegal, in this event organised by the Task Force of the International Olympic Committee.

According to the organization, Davilson Morais, the only member of the national team in this competition who has not yet competed, will make his debut this Wednesday afternoon in search of a place in the 92 kg semi-finals.

Nancy Moreira, in the 66kg, who in her first performance knocked out a boxer from Botswana, will be back on stage, looking to progress to the semi-finals against her competitor from Mozambique, as well as Carina Varela, who is looking for a place in the next round in the 60kg, after her victory in the opening round.

Who will also be competing again today is Bruno Varela, a Cape Verdean boxer living in France, who has two wins in as many fights in this competition on Senegalese soil at 71kg.
