Praia, Mar 13 (Inforpress) – The boxer Admilson Carvalho revalidated today the title of Champion of Zone II of Africa in the 63.5 kilograms by beating the Senegalese opponent in the final match which Sifonelo Lopes and Elisandro Silva won silver medals.
The feat achieved by the Cape Verdean international boxer Admilson Carvalho was against the Senegalese Alseny Sylla and gave the Cape Verde national team its first gold medal in this Africa Zone II Championship.
In the two other finals, Sifonelo Lopes lost the 86 kilograms title to Mohamed Tafsir Ba, winning the silver medal, just as Elisandro da Silva, this time, with the silver award in the 57 kilograms after seeing the gold go to the boxer Abdouhamane, from Senegal.
The Zone II African Boxing Championship ended on Sunday 12, with the Cape Verde national team winning a gold medal, two silver medals and a bronze medal, out of five boxers.
